The Maximin Grünhaus winery lies like a château at the foot of a steep, south-facing slope on the left bank of the Ruwer, just before it flows into the Moselle, and is one of the most traditional wineries in the region. The castle winery has been owned by the Schubert family since 1882 and is now run by Maximin von Schubert, the sixth generation of the family. Thanks to his consistent work together with cellar master Stefan Kraml, the winery has now returned to the top. The distinctive Art Nouveau label has almost achieved cult status and, more than ever, stands for delicate and filigree wines with plenty of freshness and lightness!

The consolidated, enclosed vineyard area of 34 hectares with the three monopole sites Abtsberg (blue slate), Herrenberg (red slate), and Bruderberg stands for wines that unmistakably represent their origin. Viticulture in the Grünhäuser vineyards is close to nature, with wild herb cover and intensive foliage work helping to harvest fully ripe, balanced, and healthy grapes. The optimal location of Maximin Grünhaus' cellar allows the harvested grapes to be transported to the press within a few minutes. After pressing and clarification, the must is transferred to the deep, cool cellar, where it is fermented spontaneously with natural yeasts in classic oak barrels or small stainless steel tanks.Hauptstr. 1
