Claire et Florent Bejon

Claire et Florent Bejon

Claire and Florent Bejon are humble winemakers at a charming estate in Saint-Germain-sur-Vienne (where the Vienne flows into the Loire), tucked away on a hill with a natural stone cellar carved from pure limestone. This unique cellar exudes a sense of serenity that is hard to put into words. For many years, Florent worked as a traveling bottler for other winemakers along the Loire—but eventually, he and his wife Claire decided to produce their own wines from Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. A wonderful discovery for us!

All of their wines are pressed by hand in a basket press, fermented spontaneously, aged in used barrique barrels, and—if the vintage allows—bottled without the addition of sulfur. Although the wines would fall under the Chinon appellation, they are all labeled as Vin de France. The vineyards are managed using natural methods, and in the cellar, the winemaking process is as natural as possible with minimal intervention. The wines are aged by individual vineyard parcel.
