Krutzler

Reinhold Krutzler learned his craft from Willi Bründlmayer and then gained international experience in France, Italy, and South Africa. However, his heart has always remained in southern Burgenland and its distinctive wines. He inherited his pioneering spirit from his father Hermann, who had been bottling quality wines in his own unique Krutzler style since 1966. Together with his father and brother Erich, he created the legendary Blaufränkisch Perwolff in the 1990s, which was and remains an important pioneer for the worldwide success of Austrian red wines. The Krutzler winery focuses primarily on red wine, preferably the Blaufränkisch variety, for which the Eisenberg offers ideal soil conditions..

In the vineyards around Deutsch-Schützen and on the Eisenberg, the wines ripen on iron-rich loam and slate soils surrounded by oak and pine forests in a special microclimate with Pannonian influence. This terroir, low yields, and a long growing season, combined with the best grapes from consistent vineyard work, give the wines of the Krutzler Winery their unmistakable character of origin. The wines are characterized by a unique texture, fine fruit, finesse, and particularly high minerality. The typically strong tannin structure further supports the fruity aromas. With increasing bottle aging, smoothness and elegance develop.
