Ried Hohes Eck ist eine neue und die kühlste Lage von Zillingers, eine der höchstgelegenen des Weinviertels, nach Norden exponiert, mit Lössboden und vor 5 Jahren neu bepflanzt. In der Nase gelbfruchtig, Kräutertee, Kamille, deutlich rauchig-torfigen Noten die irgendwie an einen schottischen Single-Malt erinnern, glatte Phenolik, leicht ätherischer Einschlag und ein kleines Reduktions-Stinkerl. Am Gaumen eine mostige Textur, herzhafter Boskop-Apfel (leicht oxidiert), intensive Kräuterwürze, dieser Grüne Veltliner ist tiefgründig anders - jeder Schluck offenbart neue aromatische Nuancen, mit Luft kommt eine schöne Säure auf. Ein Wein, dem im Keller eine -hoffentlich- noch spannende Entwicklung bevorsteht. [GB 09/2019]
