Dieser Furmint wächst circa 60 Kilometer südlich von Ratsch im slowenischen Haloze am Weingut von Michael Gross. Die Furmint Reben stehen auf den steilen Terrassen der Lage Gorca mit schiefrigem Ton-Mergel, auch Opok genannt. Der Gorca wird spontan in großen gebrauchten Holzfässern vergoren und bleibt so lang wie möglich ohne Schwefel auf der Hefe. In der Nase schon extrem fein: Speckbirne, Eierschalen, ein Hauch Quitte, dazu leicht wachsig aber auch mit kühlen und leicht grünen Aromen, etwa Wacholderblätter. Am Gaumen saftig und elegant, sehr minimalistische Struktur mit einem Anflug Tannin bzw. Phenolik, super präzise Säure mit einem Zitrustouch, zarter Schmelz kommt durch und nimmt den Gaumen ein, ein außergewöhnlicher Wein mit großer Komplexität. [GB 03/2021]
