Martin Otto Wörner, known as Marto, used to live by the motto: the wilder, the better. One could be almost certain that his wines would be hard to beat in terms of funkiness. So it was all the more surprising when we tasted the new wines from Rheinhessen Switzerland a few weeks ago. They are significantly more serious, somewhat quieter, but very delicate and with impressive depth. For those who have not yet warmed to the wines, we recommend giving the new vintage a second chance. At the same time, we can give the all-clear to all die-hard Marto fans who love the typical funk. Even though the wines have matured, they are still clearly in the natural wine category and have lost none of their character.
