Claus Preisinger learned his craft from John Nittnaus, among others, before taking over his parents' small and unknown winery. With his top cuvée Paradigma, he caused a sensation at the Falstaff awards in his very first vintage in 2000. In order to meet his high standards and produce even better wines, he opened a modern cellar at the foot of the Goldberg vineyard in 2010. Claus is a brilliant winemaker who likes to experiment and often hits the mark, whether with mash-fermented wines, naturally sparkling wines, or a red wine that is served chilled. Most of the white wines are now also fermented at least partially on the mash and bottled completely without sulfur. Where necessary, only minimal amounts of sulfur are used. Most of Claus Preisinger's wines are now considered natural wines and are somewhat unusual, often exceeding expectations in terms of aroma and palate, but unadorned, natural, interesting, and very drinkable.
