Fritz Wieninger

Fritz Wieninger

WIENinger – the pioneer of high-quality wine in Vienna, the name alone speaks for itself! Starting out as a simple wine tavern, the energetic Fritz has developed a quality-oriented top-class winery. The winery is located east of the Danube in Stammersdorf, but grapes from both sides of the river are used, from the best Viennese vineyards on the Nussberg and Bisamberg hills. Fritz Wieninger became famous for his barrique-aged Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, but he is equally open to all varieties. He is particularly fond of Gemischter Satz, a Viennese classic that had almost fallen into oblivion and is now experiencing a renaissance, not least thanks to his commitment. Wieninger now offers it in four weight classes, namely as a light Viennese Gemischter Satz, plus the Bisamberg, Nussberg, and Rosengartl vineyards. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

With its renowned vineyards on the Nussberg above Grinzing, the Wieninger Winery has access to the finest grapes for its incredibly extensive range of white and red wines. With the acquisition of the Hajszan-Neumann winery in Grinzing, Fritz Wieninger has further expanded his presence on the Nussberg, Vienna's most traditional and arguably best vineyard. Fritz Wieninger produces fine wines with great passion. In addition to Wiener Gemischter Satz, he also produces Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and red wine cuvées—as a member of the Respekt Group, naturally in accordance with biodynamic guidelines.
