The Loimer winery grows the region's typical varieties of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, ranging from the entry-level Kamptal to the top-quality Kamptal. The Loimer winery produces the region's typical varieties, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, from the entry-level Kamptal Veltliner to the top vineyards of Käferberg and Heiligenstein, with a firm and profound style. Prominent fruit or opulent body are not Fred Loimer's stylistic devices. This also applies, of course, to the other varieties at the Loimer Winery. Particularly noteworthy is the Pinot Noir, which is exceptionally elegant by Austrian standards. Fred has also been making sparkling wine again for several years now – naturally, like everything else, at the highest level. His Blanc de Blancs sets standards in Austria and, together with Bründlmayer, makes the Kamptal a sparkling wine hotspot.
Fred's wines from the Gumpoldskirchen vineyards in the Thermenregion are slightly riper and fuller due to the higher temperatures there, but remain typically Loimer elegant and structured. The Chardonnay Gumpold Reserve, with its Burgundian nose reminiscent of sesame, its salty minerality, and a long finish, has been one of our favorite varieties for years. Not least because Fred delays the release of this wine, allowing it to mature under perfect conditions at the winery—this Chardonnay can certainly withstand several years of aging and plenty of air to fully develop. nbsp; All Gumpoldskirchen wines are now marketed uniformly under the Loimer label.
