It all began with the carefree creativity of a young couple, Sophie Kumpf and Philippe Meyer—both born in Alsace, both the sons and daughters of winemakers. This led to the founding of the Kumpf & Meyer winery in 1997. However, Philippe was drawn elsewhere. Sophie initially took the reins alone, and then, starting in 2010, with the help of Julien Albertus. This young winemaker arrived at the winery brimming with ideas and convictions. Under his leadership, the vineyards were converted to organic farming, and, naturally, the wines were produced using natural methods.
