Der 2021er Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Croix Rouges kommt total anders als die 2020er Serie aus dem Glas. Gleich in der Nase ein sehr oxidative Bukett: Marillenröster, Bratapfel, Rosinen, karamellisierte Ananas, etwas Asche, Nuancen eines trockenen Sherry, wirkt 10 Jahre älter als er ist. Der Gaumen beginnt mit einer fast öligen Textur und einem Anflug von Schmelz, bevor eine kräftige -ja kernige- Säure einsetzt, die tonangebend bleibt sich aber durchaus feinziseliert zeigt, zusammen mit den Marillenröster- und Karamell-Noten ergibt sich ein mächtiger Chardonnay mit guter Länge.
