Medium yellow, delicate toasty, smoky and honey aromas, followed by grapefruit pineapple, and pears, with peppery spicy tines of herbs and fir tree, at the beginning soft and silky, then sappy and powerful, tightly structured, multilayered, with a firm grip and exotic fruit on the palate, pineapples and citrus fruits, appetizing extract sweetness, well-balanced, very good length and a soft, mineral peppery finish, very good aging potential.

Die Ried Käferberg besteht aus kargem Urgesteinsboden (Gföhler Gneis mit Glimmerschiefer) mit teils toniger Auflagen und ist nach Süden abfallend ausgerichtet. Die über 60-jährigen Rebstöcke bringen in der luftigen Lage beste Ergebnisse. In der Nase Weingartenpfirsich, Birne, gelbe reife Stachelbeeren und Ringlotten, leicht rauchig, daneben auch nasser Stein, zarte Kamillen-Anklänge. Am Gaumen eine schlanke Textur mit etwas Schmelz, frische Säure die die Würzigkeit betont, Kräuternoten  mit rauer Birnenschale, dazu ein dezenter Grapefruit Touch, sehr ausgewogenen, die lebendige Säure verleiht ihm gute Länge. [GB Jg. 2020]

Ein der besten Lagen im Kamptal am Fuße des Heiligensteins, der Name leitet sich vom Untergrund Lehm oder in der regionalen Mundart Loam oder Laam her. Der Boden ist kalkhaltig und besteht aus lehmig-sandigem Schluff. Mittleres Grüngelb, in der Nase Apfel, reife Ringlotten, etwas Birnenkompott, dazu grüner Waldmeister und ein Hauch Zitronenmelisse. Am Gaumen eine anmutige sämige Textur mit einer leichten (Hefe-)Reduktion, sehr sanfte Säure, säuerlich-herb wie Rhabarber, rund (harmonisch) und trotzdem druckvoll, spät einsetzende Tabak-Würze die auch im Nachhall bleibt, gute Länge. Clarion and crisp mingle with a nuanced lemon freshness, while maintaining a balanced elegance and understatement. No need for show. Delicately bitter and propelled by a stony undercurrent. Die Ried Lamm liegt am südöstlichen Hangfuß des Heileigensteins und besteht aus Perm-Erosionsmaterial mit tiefgründiger Löss-Lehm Auflage, hier findet der Grüne Veltliner ideale Voraussetzungen für tiefgründige, mineralische aber runde Weine. Die handgelesenen Trauben werden gerebelt und 12 Stunden auf der Maische gelassen, danach spontane Vergärung in gebrauchten 500 Liter Fässern mit anschließender Feinhefe-Lagerung bis August. Diffizile Nase nach Apfel, Litschi, Weißbrot, getrocknete Aprikosen und ein Hauch Mandarinenzeste, dazu dezenter rauchiger Stein. Am Gaumen eine feine Textur, äußerst schlank (für Lamm) mit einer geschliffenen Mineralik, elegante Säure, eine Spur Phenolik von der Traubenschale, eine zarte Exotik entwickelt sich und endet mit einer leicht herben Pfefferwürze. Ein Nachbar der berühmteren Riede Lamm, eine kalkhaltige Lage am Fuße des Heiligenstein bzw. Gaisberges mit Löss und Gneis-Verwitterungsböden. Mittleres Grüngelb, in der Nase Melone, Apfel, Mirabellen, daneben Apfelblüten und rosa Pfeffer, ganz leichte Hefe-Reduktion. Am Gaumen eine saftige Textur mit dezenter Säure, zart tabakig, baut sehr guten Druck auf, klasse Veltliner mit Schmelz und schöner Pfefferwürze im Abgang, lang. Jancis Robinson schreibt: Creamy/leesy yellow fruit, ripe orange and cool spice. Elegant, stony beauty compels the variety to play second fiddle to the site.
