Ein Nachbar der berühmteren Riede Lamm, eine kalkhaltige Lage am Fuße des Heiligenstein bzw. Gaisberges mit Löss und Gneis-Verwitterungsböden. Mittleres Grüngelb, in der Nase Melone, Apfel, Mirabellen, daneben Apfelblüten und rosa Pfeffer, ganz leichte Hefe-Reduktion. Am Gaumen eine saftige Textur mit dezenter Säure, zart tabakig, baut sehr guten Druck auf, klasse Veltliner mit Schmelz und schöner Pfefferwürze im Abgang, lang. Jancis Robinson schreibt: Creamy/leesy yellow fruit, ripe orange and cool spice. Elegant, stony beauty compels the variety to play second fiddle to the site. A racy, shaping acidity and spice emerge from the wings. So young as to still be finding its footing and a bit at odds with itself. But the wait, for those willing to do so, will be worth it. (PS)

Medium yellow, peaches and pineapple roasted almonds and honey as well as mineral flavors, complex, yet still very young on the nose, very concentrated and rich in extract, full-bodied and potent but balanced with fresh acidity and extract, pineapple dried abricots and white peaches on the palate very opulent and powerful though pure and precise, excellent grip, very long spicy and mineral finish, and again great potential.

Zöbinger Heiligenstein, der berühmteste Weinberg im Kamptal, eine 200 Mio.Jahre alte "Sanddüne" aus der Perm-Zeit. Mittleres Grüngelb. In der Nase toller exotischer Einschlag (ohne kitschig zu sein): Ananas, Mango, Grapefruitzeste, dazu etwas Wiesenkräuter und ein winziger Hauch Blütenhonig. Am Gaumen eine feingliedrige Struktur, dezente gelbe Fruchtanklänge, ausgewogene Säure mit zitronigem Einschlag, reif und mürbe in der Textur, elegant, Terroir par excellence, sehr harmonisch, delikat und lang im Abgang, Ananas im Nachhall.
