Dieser Spätburgunder stammt von den steilen, flachgründigen und kargen Kalkverwitterungsböden des Zunzinger Rosenberg mit einer Südwestausrichtung, von verschiedenen deutschen Klonen, wobei die Hälfte der Reben über 60 Jahre alt ist. Bei der Gärung wurden 80% Ganztrauben verwendet, anfänglich für einige Tage in einer Mazeration carbonique vergoren, anschließend mit einer offenen Maischegärung mit wenigen Pigeage trocken vergoren. Der Wein wurde 16 Monate in gebrauchten französischen Eichenfässern ausgebaut.
