Stefan Reinhardt schreibt über den 20er Jahrgang bei Parker: From 23-year-old vines planted in very high density on Jurassic chalk, Ziereisen's unfiltered 2020 Jaspis Syrah Däublin exhibits a dark and intense red color and opens on the nose with a deep, pure, fresh and intense, perfectly ripe black berry aroma intertwined with notes of smoked bacon, black pepper and even olives yet also the refreshing features of the limestone soils around Efringen-Kirchen. Lush and dense yet also silky and fresh on the palate, this is a full-bodied and concentrated yet pure, fine and vibrant Syrah with very fine tannins and a spicy, licorice-scented, peppery and uplifted finish. The elegant and fine tannins are perfectly interwoven with the delicate and saline acidity. This is an impressive Syrah that is most probably the finest I have tasted here, if not in all Germany, in about 20 years. World class. 13% stated alcohol. Premium natural cork stopper. Tasted in November 2022..
