The world′s most important grape variety, a (the) Cépages nobles. Chardonnay is grown successfully over an area of 198,000 hectares in all countries and continents and is the basis for many top wines. In Germany it was admitted in 1991, also in Austria, the Chardonnay won only since that time on importance.
