Hungary has a very old winegrowing tradition, viticulture is present through-out the country. Wine from Sopron and Eger have been well-known for centuries, the sweet wine of Tokaj is world-famous and red wines from Villany have received a lot of critical aclaim recently. Like in neighboring Burgenland the most important red grape variety is Blaufränkisch, locally called Kekfrankos - all reasons why Sopron is seeing increasing activity by Burgenland`s winemakers.

Ein Pinot Noir aus Ungarn, genauer aus Sopron am Ödenburger Gebirge mit Schiefer im Unterboden. Urtümliche Nase nach roten Beeren, eingelegte Pflaumen, Gewürzstrauß mit Anleihen von Zimtstange und Nelken, Nuancen von morschem Holz. Am Gaumen sehr einnehmende Breite, feinverwobene Säure mit einem Hauch Tannin, das Holz unmerklich, aber in der Struktur unterstützend, leicht erdig, bäuerlich mit etwas Maischegeschmack, bleibt sehr natürlich und erfrischend bis zum Finale.
