Having been on the map for sweet wines for quite a while, Germany is now starting to score big with dry wines. Leading the charge of course is the indigenous grape Riesling, widely regarded as one of the best white varieties overall. Closely followed by Pinot Noir (or Spätburgunder), similiar in style to its origin Burgundy.
