Der Riesling Pettenthal von Kühling-Gillot legt los wie die Feuerwehr und beeindruckt mit einer reduktiven Nase, die einen kurz ans Burgund oder das Jura denken lässt, dann kommt der Riesling aber deutlich durch und zeigt reife Frucht mit intensiven Steinobstnoten, dazu gibts salzige Mineralik und dunkle Rauchigkeit, sehr komplex und interessant. Am Gaumen mit ordentlichem Punch, die Salzigkeit kommt gleich wieder durch, der feste mineralische Kern wird schnell von weicher Frucht überspült, zarte Exotik mit Ananas, dazu Amalfizitrone und Kumquats, ein Hauch Blutorange zum Abgang hin, bleibt sehr intensiv am Gaumen hängen, ist mal wieder gehörig eng ob Pettenthal oder Rothenberg das beste GG ist.
