GermanDie Lage Heerweg liegt am sogenannten Mainzer Berg in Ingelheim, mit hohem Kalkanteil und nach Westen ausgerichtet sie einen charmanten und früh zugänglichen Spätburgunder, obwohl komplett mit den Rappen gemaischt wurde. In der Nase blaufruchtig nach Schlehen und Preiselbeeren, nasses Holz, zart rauchigem dunklen Stein. Am Gaumen eine herzhafte Textur, getragen von einem ebensolchen Tannin und feiner Säure, im Mittelteil ungemein saftig und animierend, zart kräutrig, bevor sich im Nachhall wieder etwas Gerbstoff zeigt. Stuart Pigott schreibt für James Suckling: "This Rheinhessen pinot noir has a striking nose of candied orange and baking spices with hints of herbal liqueur and savory. At one ripe and quite fleshy, but well-structured with a core of fine tannins that drive and focus the long chalky, yet fresh and elegant finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. 100% whole cluster, wild fermented, then 18 months in small oak. Unfiltered and unfined. Drink or hold."
