Der Rote Veltliner ist eine der Lieblingstrauben von Sepp Mantler und er macht aus der Lage Reisenthal immer einen der besten Sortenvertreter. Mit dem althochdeutschen BOTEGA ist der Bottich gemeint, in dem dieser Wein auf der Maische vergoren wurde. Ohne Oxydation sehr helles Grüngelb, in der Nase dann aber doch klar der lange Schalenkontakt erkennbar: Quitte, Birne, Sternfrucht, Sommerwiese und Nuancen von frischem Brot. Am Gaumen eine ätherische fast ölige Textur, sehr trockener Schmelz, mit Luft und Wärme kommen Mandarinen ins Spiel, viel Struktur mit richtigem Gerbstoff und gut passender Säure, sehr elegant (für einen Maischevergorenen) und nachhaltig. {GB 11/2017]
