Schäfer-Fröhlichs Riesling vom Vulkangestein ist ein mineralisches Monster, karg und straff. In der Nase fängt er gleich mit einer subtilen Rauchigkeit an, etwas weißer Pfirsich aber insgesamt verhaltene Frucht. Am Gaumen ist er von Anfang an äußerst druckvoll, pure und dichte Mineralik, wieder rauchig, etwas tabakig, maskuline Stilistik, eine sehr feine Säure gibt ihm Lebendigkeit, beeindruckender Nahe-Riesling mit langem Finish.
